    Recently i bought a 24v300ah lifepo battery in Aliex. They aren't just fake. They are a hazard. They admitted they don't have the certs when I requested for a copy of the displayed certification, in this case RoHs, CE....label on the battery. It weights only 10kg indicating that its not even grade B, it may not even be lifepo...who knows. Everyone using it should know that this is a dangerous and hazardous product. Without proper quality certs you are at risk of fire and explosion. And worst your insurance do not cover such ignorance. These fly by nite sellers are out to fleece us. Buyers protection is useless because the logistic companies will not transport the return of such dangerous goods from 3rd parties.

    Good day my friend. I believe I might of seen that you have a pop out section? If you do then in the long run get a pop out support stand to put under it to keep it from sagging on the track. Makes a big difference I'm told by family members. Metal roof covering the trailer will help so much in heat/cold conditions and protection from hail.

  • @Andrew-rc3vh

    I think the price will come way down as new materials and fabrication methods are invented. The heat problem need not be a heat problem at all but a heat advantage. You see solar panels only convert part of the spectrum. There is a lot of infrared radiation that converts to heat on a black surface. So what you want is a system of liquid cooling. I understand this is more complexity to the manufacturing, but as before, new techniques will be invented and the work will all be done by robots anyway. There is a lot of energy in this heat and so you can use it via some jiggery pokery. I mean you can use it to heat your water for one thing.

    I don't see a big problem here except being lied to. Which is a very minor problem, because when I buy anything made in China by a small (effectively noname) manufacturer, I can be sure they lied somewhere, so I just live with it. And grade B batteries do not seem such a terrible deal for the price. As you said: I'm likely to not even notice the difference

    • @LDSreliance
      @LDSreliance 11 днів тому

      I've since revised my opinion on that and the problem is worse than I believed at the time of publishing this video. Some light users are not likely to notice a difference. If you don't tax the battery it may be okay for an extended period of time. But the early failure rate of these Grade B deep cycle batteries is 20% within the first year or two and that isn't taxing the battery hard. So that is already Russian Roulette for anyone who buys one. But heavy users, such as people putting them in bass boats and then going out to fish bass tournaments with them will almost surely notice a performance difference if not a failure within 500 cycles or so.

    I have a TEC2-19003 that I regularly get 100 degree fahrenheit difference between hot and cold side. Its runs at 4 degrees fahrenheit with just 1.3 amps. I've gotten it to drop to -4 degrees fahrenheit without topping out at its rated 3 amps. I cant get anywhere near that with my single stage TEC1-12703 devices. The multi stage devices do appear to work much better at deep cooling vs single stage. However, as was mentioned you have to drive then from different current sources so the bottom doesn't get as much as the top one. I'm guessing the manufactured ones account for this.

  • @DIYDaveT
    @DIYDaveT 13 днів тому

    Remember, things do get cheaper over time. It's now 2024-06-22 and I just bought 3 "grade A" 100AH 12 volt batteries with bluetooth BMS (100A charge and discharge). These will replace the 2 6 volt golf cart batteries (230 AH) which I paid $500 for about 1 year ago. It seems that leaving them on my float charger cooked them. Oh, and the year before that? SAME THING. Lead acid and AGM are just too fragile for the marine environment. If you discharge a lead acid battery too far, it's going to be quickly damaged. But the lifepo4 batteries have much lower self discharge and I will be massively increasing my house battery storage, charging current and discharge current for just 20% more than re-re-re buying the deep cycle golf cart garbage batteries. As someone said below, even if I only get HALF the life of a grade A setup for this kind of money, it is a steal of a deal compared to having to screw around with lead acid ever again.

    The only valid point in favor of the portable AC I have ever heard is folks who are unable to install and remove the window units safely. Still, I encourage them to get help because the disadvantages of portable ACs compared to window units are too many.

    • @LDSreliance
      @LDSreliance 15 днів тому

      No question. The only case to be made for the portable AC is where window units are disallowed or it is unsafe to install a heavy AC unit supported by the window sill. Some people can make an argument about convenience and I can see where they are coming from. I don't agree with it but I can see where they are coming from. The installation is slightly easier. But any benefits there are outweighed by the real estate lost by the obnoxious tubes and the AC unit itself that now occupies at least 10 square feet of whatever room it is in.
